Beyond the Hobby (BTH) understands that toys are children's first friends and can remain so throughout their lives, even in adulthood. For toys can be versatile: they can be playmates you talk to, playthings tossed around and sometimes forgotten in a corner, but also collectible items that remind you of the kid you were once and maybe the kid you still are—the kid you want to keep alive in you.

BTH starts from the vision of one boy, now a dad himself: to keep the nostalgia alive. Alain understands well how it is to be a kid. Growing up in the '90s in the Philippines, then heavily influenced by Japanese pop culture, his after-school days were filled with the adventures of Dragon Ball Z, Voltes V, Slam Dunk, and of course YU YU Hakusho. Now, as the father of two and an entrepreneur in his own right, Alain keeps that childhood passion alive.  

BTH believes we never have to part with our first childhood friends. We grow up, but we don't have to stop being kids—or at least a part of ourselves. It is this spirit that drives BTH. Conceptualized after the manner of the Filipino version of the sundry variety store that Alain grew up to—"the sari-sari store"—BTH offers a variety of toys for all ages. But BTH also understands the frustration caused by the prices of today's toys. BTH's mission is to deliver authentic, affordable, and quality toys to every doorstep of kids of all ages.
